Hamrah ("we," "our," or "us") operates the companion services platform at hamrah.pk. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

By accessing or using Hamrah, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the platform immediately.

This policy applies to all users of the Hamrah platform, including clients, companions, and visitors to our website.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Registration: Full legal name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, city of residence, and chosen username/password
  • Identity Verification: CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) front and back photographs, a live selfie for facial verification, and in some cases video verification during onboarding
  • Profile Information: Profile photographs, biographical text, spoken languages, interests, service categories offered, hourly rates, and availability schedules
  • Financial Information: Wallet transaction history, bank account details for companion withdrawals (account title, IBAN, bank name), and payment method preferences
  • Communications: All messages exchanged through our in-app messaging system, support ticket submissions, contact form inquiries, and feedback provided through reviews
  • Booking Information: Booking dates, times, locations, service types, add-on selections, special instructions, and session notes

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & Browser Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, device identifiers, and referring URLs
  • Usage Analytics: Pages visited, features used, search queries performed, time spent on each page, click patterns, and navigation paths
  • Location Data: Precise GPS coordinates during active in-person bookings (with explicit opt-in consent), and approximate location derived from IP address for service area matching
  • Session Data: Authentication tokens, session cookies, login timestamps, and device fingerprints for security purposes

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data only for specific, legitimate purposes:

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Period. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Between Users: Clients see companion profiles (display name, photos, ratings, bio, pricing). During accepted bookings, limited information is shared to facilitate the meetup. Real names from CNIC are never shared with other users
  • Payment Partners: Transaction data is shared with our payment processors (Stripe, Safepay) solely to process payments. They are bound by their own privacy policies and PCI compliance
  • Infrastructure Providers: Data is stored on secure servers. Our hosting, email, and analytics providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government request under Pakistani jurisdiction. We will notify affected users unless prohibited by law
  • Safety Emergencies: In cases of imminent physical danger or when SOS is triggered, we may share real-time location and user identity with law enforcement or emergency services
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify users before data is transferred to a new entity

While we employ industry-standard security practices, no system is 100% impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we continuously invest in improving our defenses.

6. AI Chat Monitoring & Safety

For the safety of our community, all in-app messages are monitored using AI-powered content analysis. This system:

  • Detects and flags inappropriate language, sexual solicitation, harassment, and threats
  • Identifies attempts to share personal contact information (phone numbers, email, social media handles) to circumvent the platform
  • Alerts our safety team for manual review of flagged conversations
  • Does NOT read or analyze messages for advertising purposes

Flagged content is reviewed by trained safety team members under strict confidentiality agreements. Chat data is retained for the duration necessary for safety investigations and dispute resolution.

⚠️ This monitoring is a mandatory condition of using Hamrah's messaging features and cannot be opted out of.

7. Location Data

We handle location data with special care:

  • In-Person Bookings: Precise GPS coordinates are collected during active sessions ONLY when you explicitly enable location sharing. This data powers our live safety tracking and SOS features
  • IP-Based Location: We derive approximate city-level location from your IP address for service area matching and fraud prevention. This is automatic and cannot be disabled
  • Data Retention: Precise GPS location data is automatically deleted within 7 days of booking completion
  • Access Control: Only our safety team can access real-time location data, and only during active bookings or emergency investigations

You can revoke GPS permissions at any time through your device settings. However, this may disable live safety tracking during in-person bookings.

11. Children's Privacy

Hamrah is strictly for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect, process, or store any personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

If we discover that a minor has registered on the platform, we will:

  • Immediately suspend and terminate the account
  • Delete all personal data associated with the account within 24 hours
  • Report the incident to our safety team for investigation

12. International Data Transfers

Hamrah primarily operates within Pakistan. Your data is stored on servers located within our hosting provider's infrastructure. If any data is transferred internationally (e.g., through payment processors or analytics tools), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including contractual data processing agreements.
